About the Role
Amcor is a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions. We are looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our Flexible Films division in Zürich.
You will work on the design and development of multilayer flexible film structures for food, pharmaceutical, and personal care markets. You will collaborate closely with our innovation, sales, and manufacturing teams to deliver packaging that meets customer specifications while advancing our sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop flexible film structures using BOPP, PET, PE, and barrier coatings
- Lead packaging trials and scale-up projects from lab to production
- Conduct material selection and supplier qualification activities
- Support customers with technical queries and new product development
- Contribute to Amcor AmLite and recyclable packaging portfolio projects
- Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and regulatory dossiers
Requirements
- ✓Degree in Packaging Technology, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- ✓3+ years experience in flexible packaging engineering
- ✓Hands-on knowledge of film extrusion, lamination, and coating processes
- ✓Familiarity with barrier properties, sealing, and print processes
- ✓Experience with sustainability metrics (recyclability, carbon footprint)
- ✓Proficiency in German and English
