R&D Scientist – Bio-based Packaging Materials

NatureWorks is the world leading manufacturer of Ingeo™ biopolymers made from renewable plant sugars. We are seeking an R&D Scientist to develop next-generation bio-based packaging materials for food, consumer goods, and industrial applications. Key Responsibilities: - Design and conduct polymer characterisation and processing experiments with PLA and bio-based blends - Develop new Ingeo resin grades for film, thermoform, fibre, and foam applications - Collaborate with converter and brand partners to accelerate adoption of bio-based packaging - Publish technical findings and present at industry conferences (SPC, Bioplastics Europe, ANTEC) - Support IP strategy and patent filings - Mentor junior scientists and interns
